August’s expertise includes physical and mental health in later life; psychosocial aspects of chronic disease management, including diabetes; and racial/ethnic disparities in health.
Marsh is the author of numerous articles in journals including the American Quarterly, the Journal of American History, Pennsylvania History, and of chapters in books on topics ranging from the history of motherhood to the history of masculinity. She is the co-author of The Fertility Doctor: John Rock and the Reproductive Revolution (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2008). She is the co-author of an upcoming book, IVF and Beyond: The History, Policy, and Politics of Assisted Reproduction.
Scannell-Desch’s research interests involve issues related to the military, including nursing and veterans’ care. She is the author of Nurses After War: Experiences of Reintegration following the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars (Springer Publishing, 2016) and co-author of Nurses in War: Voices from Iraq and Afghanistan (Springer Publishing, 2012).
Daniel teaches courses on pediatric psychology and research methods. Her professional training includes completing an American Cancer Society Fellowship in Behavioral Oncology at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
