Parking is permitted in Faculty/Staff Lots 2 and 14 after 4:30pm

Handicap and Temporary Disabled
A current
Permanent Disabled: State placards and
handicapped license plates alone are not accepted as evidence of a
disability by the permit holder.
These are accepted by the Rutgers Parking office for issuance of
Rutgers Handicapped designation.
Temporary Disabled: Provide the Rutgers
Parking office with a letter from your doctor indicating the nature of
your disability and the amount of time you’ll be temporarily disabled.
If you do not already have a parking permit, a Temporary Handicapped
permit can be purchased for $2 per day.
Handicap spaces are available in Lots 1, 2, 12, 13 and 14 regardless of

New/Changed Vehicles - register at the Parking Office as soon as the license plates are put on the vehicle. The cost of an additional sticker is $8.00. No refunds or exchanges on remnants of old stickers will be made.
Driving a Different
Vehicle to Campus - obtain a free hangtag for
your replacement vehicle while your registered vehicle is being
repaired.
Available at Parking, or Dispatch when Parking is closed.
Displaying the hangtag without the decal is not acceptable and will
result in a $15 fine.
Forgotten Hangtag - if you forget to bring
your hangtag, obtain a free one for the day at the Parking Department.
The decal alone is insufficient.
Lost/Stolen/Damaged Permits - The University is not
responsible for lost, stolen or damaged permits. However, it must be
reported to the Parking Office immediately.
Replacement hangtags can be obtained at the Parking Office for a $15.00
fee. The original hangtag will be invalidated and, if found, may not be
used or a $250 fine and $50 boot fee will apply.
Unpaid Citations – Three unpaid citations may
result in a vehicle being “booted”. All tickets and the $50 boot fee
must be paid in order to have the boot removed.
Disabled Vehicles - disabled vehicles should
not obstruct traffic flow or endanger safety. The vehicle should be
moved within 24-hours or will be subject to towing at the owner’s
expense.
Notify the Parking Office immediately of any disabled vehicles.
Vehicles should be parked
within stalls that are marked. Otherwise, a space should be sought
within another authorized parking lot. The Main

Please
make sure your vehicle is locked and valuable items are not visible.
The University assumes no responsibility for the security of vehicles
or their contents.
The fact that a person
parks in violation and does not receive a citation does not mean that
parking rules are not in effect, or that a violation did not occur.
Notes left on vehicles to
avoid citations are not acceptable. Come to the Parking office to
resolve the issue and avoid ticketing.
The registrant of a vehicle is responsible for all violations
identified with that vehicle, even when that person is not driving. If
the citation remains unanswered further penalties will be assessed.
Payments may be made
online. Appeals must be filed within 10 days; the form is online.
A Rutgers parking permit is a two
part permit system.
A hangtag to be suspended from your rearview mirror and a small
color-matched sticker for the rear, driver’s side window.
