Arts Education
For more than 20 years, the Rutgers–Camden Center for the Arts has designed and implemented research-based arts education programs for New Jersey’s pre/K-12 schools that teach in, about, and through the arts, stimulating students' learning by opening up new pathways to understanding across disciplines.
In general, the program provides direct access to high-quality arts and professional artists; enhances perceptual and memory skills; explores the language of symbols; expands vocabulary and literacy skills; exercises higher order thinking skills; promotes understanding of cultural variations; fosters an awareness of students' own creative abilities; and nurtures students and teachers' interest in the arts.
All arts education programs fulfill New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards.
