Video: Cameras positioned at strategic locations throughout the campus provide live video feeds into University Police headquarters, where they are monitored by the dispatcher. In the event of suspicious activity, the dispatcher directs patrolling officers and guards to the appropriate locations. Some of these cameras are connected to the police department through laser links, not hardwire connections that can be severed.
Voice: Red emergency phones that connect directly to University Police headquarters may be found in 53 locations across the campus. All campus phones connect directly to the RUPD by dialing "8."
Lighting: The campus is well lit at night with a total lumen count that well exceeds national security standards.
