Welcome fROM CHANCELLOR WENDELL E. PRITCHETT
I am delighted to welcome you to Rutgers–Camden and invite you to get to know us. Rutgers–Camden is an exciting place to learn, with the energy and expertise that allows our students and faculty to achieve the extraordinary.
The campus features internationally known faculty engaged in leading-edge research, students who take advantage of innovative academic and co-curricular opportunities, and a staff dedicated to supporting excellence in teaching, research, and service to the citizens of New Jersey and the world. Recent changes on the campus symbolize the new directions in which we are heading: the launch of the nation's first doctoral program in childhood studies, the construction of a new state-of-the art law school building, and the development of an exciting four-year undergraduate business curriculum.
Our campus is located next to the Ben Franklin Bridge, just minutes away from Philadelphia and in the heart of the vibrant Camden Waterfront. When you visit the campus, you will see beautiful landscaped spaces that feature a blend of historical and modern buildings. Our new Gateway sculpture welcomes you to the campus with a dazzling depiction of the worlds made by nature and by knowledge.
Rutgers–Camden offers a first-rate education for undergraduate and graduate students, outstanding professional education, a home for the research efforts of our talented faculty, and a commitment to making a difference in our host city and beyond.
As the southernmost campus of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, we offer all the advantages of being part of a major research university combined with the close-knit structure of a small campus. Rutgers–Camden is the most prominent institution of higher education in southern New Jersey.
A walk across our campus will inspire you with its lush green space, preserved Victorian architecture, approachable faculty known the world over, and a sense of belonging you'll want to experience for yourself.
