Rutgers-Camden Accounting Professor Selected to Peer Review Committee for Fulbright Scholars

Sungsoo Kim, an associate dean and a professor of accounting at the Rutgers School of Business–Camden, has been appointed to the Peer Review Committee for Fulbright Scholars by the Council of International Exchange of Scholars. The council administers the Fulbright Exchange Program for students and faculty in the United States and around the world. Kim will participate in the final selection of U.S. Fulbright scholars for 2013-14. The review process will begin Oct. 14.

Kim teaches courses in accounting, financial statement analysis, financial reporting, and accounting theory and public policy at the Rutgers School of Business–Camden. His research has appeared in such prominent scholarly journals as the Accounting Review, Journal of International Financial Management and Accounting, and the Financial Review. In 2010, the Accounting Research Journal awarded Kim with its Outstanding Paper Award for “The Effect of Enron, Andersen, and Sarbanes-Oxley on the US Market for Audit Services.”

Kim received his bachelor’s degree in English from the Chung-ang University in Korea. He earned an MBA, a master’s degree in philosophy, and a doctoral degree in accounting from Bernard M. Baruch College at the City University of New York.
