Dual and Joint Degree Programs (BA/MPA and BA/JD)
Political science majors interested in graduate school should consider applying to the BA/MPA dual degree program during the spring term of their junior year. Qualified students can earn an undergraduate degree in political science and a master of public administration degree within five years by taking two graduate-level courses during their senior year. These two courses fulfill undergraduate and major requirements and are billed at the undergraduate tuition rate.

Highlights
- Students are taught challenging courses by professors who are excellent teachers. In 2011, Dr. Jenny Kehl was honored by Rutgers when she was awarded the Presidential Fellowshipfor Teaching Excellence. Dr. Aman McLeod offers a course that brings together law students and undergraduates to study judicial decision-making.
- The political science internship program places students in federal, state, and local government offices and nonprofit agencies. Students have the opportunity to work with elected officials and participate in political campaigns and receive academic credit for this valuable work experience that leading law schools and graduate programs notice.
- Political science professors at Rutgers–Camden are leaders in their fields, contributing articles and publishing books, as well as receiving invitations as visiting scholars abroad. In 2011, Dr. Alan Tarr visited Burma at the request of the U.S. Department of State; he delivered expert insight into federalism.
- Political science alumni are leaders in government and public policy. They also pursue graduate degrees at top law schools, as well as PhD programs at such institutions as Johns Hopkins and Rutgers.
