Students interested in acquiring knowledge beyond the professional specialty in which they are already expert will be challenged by the graduate program in liberal studies. A cross-disciplinary, 30-credit program leading to the master of arts degree, the liberal studies program offers a wide spectrum of courses in literature, history, philosophy, religion, psychology, childhood studies, criminal justice, sociology, and the arts. Students work closely with faculty members—all distinguished scholars in their fields—and participate with a diverse array of classmates who share varied work and life experiences. The program offers small class sizes and classes during the late afternoon and evening.
