Students pursuing a master of arts degree in English at Rutgers–Camden can take courses taught by nationally recognized scholars of English, American, and world literature from the medieval era to the present as well as linguistics and writing studies. The 30-credit program is designed for individuals who intend to teach at the high school or community college level, seek qualification for a doctoral program in English, or simply wish to pursue an advanced liberal arts education.

The program also allows students to gain subject matter certification (K-12) through the teacher prep program while working toward the master’s degree. Day and evening classes accommodate the schedules of full- and part-time students.
