A celebrated Rutgers–Camden tradition continues as the southernmost campus of Rutgers welcomes alumni, friends, and the entire campus community to its annual homecoming festivities this Saturday.
Beginning at noon, enjoy live entertainment, including a university-wide Rock, Paper, Scissors challenge and a family fun zone featuring face painting, a pumpkin patch, a giant slide, a maze, games, prizes, and more. The theme for this year’s event is “There’s no place like HOMEcoming.”
A special “Raptor Rally” will begin at 1:45 p.m. featuring the Mighty Marching Panthers Camden High School Marching Band, Rutgers–Camden cheerleaders, the Scarlet Raptor mascot, and Chancellor Wendell Pritchett, who will introduce a new Rutgers–Camden campus pride video to the audience from an outdoor stage, featuring six large flat screens. The homecoming king and queen will be crowned following the Raptor Rally.
Rutgers–Camden’s student-athletes will be in action throughout the day as the nationally ranked men’s soccer team takes on William Patterson University at 2 p.m. The Scarlet Raptors are ranked 18th in the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Men’s National rankings and 14th in the D3soccer.com poll. The team has been nationally ranked for 16 consecutive weeks, dating back to last season.
The Rutgers–Camden women’s volleyball team will host John Jay College at 10 a.m. and Marymount University at 2 p.m. in the Athletic and Fitness Center. The women’s soccer team will play Allegheny University at noon.
