Community Scholars Program
The Department administers community internships. Many internships
are funded through the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs,
Trenton. They are offered during the regular term and in the

the capacity of nonprofit organizations by providing comprehensive
assistance to agencies actively involved in affordable housing,
economic development, or community development. Rutgers University
students majoring in urban studies, public administration, or
related majors will have an opportunity to apply their academic
knowledge to challenges facing the nonprofit community. You may
be engaged in grant-writing, development and implementation of
business and marketing plans, organizational management, community
outreach activities, etc. We are looking for responsible individuals
with strong organizational and communication skills to participate
in this paid internship program during the upcoming fall and
spring semesters. In the past students have worked for such agencies
as Neighborhood Housing Services, Camden, and the Neighborhood
Preservation Program, Fairview Village, Camden. This is a competitive
program. Interested students should contact the Program Director.
