STUDENT ADVISING & SERVICES
The Associate Chancellor for Student Affairs serves as the student advocate for the deans and administrators on campus, to insure that student voices are represented, to work with students who have concerns or suggestions that they would like addressed, and to continue to improve and develop programs and services that meet students’ interests and needs.
Many departments, staff members and faculty have roles in advising students in college – from academic advising, to career and graduate school advising, to personal counseling, to peer mentoring, to tutoring, to financial advising, to life coaching and skill building. The Dean of Students acts as a referral resource to these and the many other faculty, staff, and service providers on and around our campus.
The Dean of Students is the point of contact for students who have questions, concerns, issues that need to be addressed, crises, emergencies or ideas for Rutgers University – Camden. The Dean may work with students to develop a plan of action, refer students to appropriate resources on campus, explain ways for a student to address their concern, or help a student to resolve the situation. The Dean is a resource to all students at Rutgers University – Camden, and may be a starting point for students when they are not sure where to turn.
