Medical Technology

A Medical Technologist is a clinical laboratory scientist who performs scientific tests on body fluids, evaluates these tests and reports results to the physician. The results of these tests determine the presence of disease, aid in the treatment of disease and monitor therapy. To be admitted to the Cooper 1 year FT program, the student must have completed at least 3 years or 90 credits towards a bachelor's degree in medical technology or a related science at an accredited affiliated college or university must have an overall and science GPA of 2.5. Course work must Include organic chemistry, microbiology and Immunology. As a graduate you are eligible to take a national certification examination in Medical Technology.
