THE
AFRICAN AMERICAN STUDIES PROGRAM
AT RUTGERS-CAMDEN
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MAJOR IN AFRICAN AMERICAN STUDIES (February 2008)
Overall, majors in African American Studies must take 30 credits (eleven courses) in the major AND choose a departmental minor of 18 credits (six courses) that cannot be in another interdisciplinary program. The minor may be a certification in elementary or secondary education. The total number of credits, then, is 48. Majors and minors must maintain an average of 2.0 in the African American Studies major or minor.
