Partnerships for the Future:
Supporting Growth at Rutgers Camden

Provost's Initiatives

Senator Walter Rand Institute for Public Affairs

The Rand Institute works with residents, social institutions, government agencies, and businesses to examine the effects of public policy on the surrounding community. The institute also conducts applied policy research, provides training and technical assistance to state and local agencies, and supplies educational initiatives for secondary schools and community colleges.

The Senator Walter Rand Institute for Public Affairs needs increased funding for programs, research, and fellowships for graduate students. Our goal is to provide all talented and deserving students with access to a quality Rutgers education.

Center for Strategic Urban Community Leadership

The center promotes services that bridge the gap between urban communities and higher education. It provides a forum for the analysis of policy issues, while developing new strategic approaches to meet the changing needs of urban communities. The center oversees LEAP Academy Charter School in Camden and offers Centers of Excellence.

The Center for Strategic Urban Leadership/LEAP Centers of Excellence address concerns locally and globally. Your support will allow these programs to meet the increasing needs of the community and build an endowment for LEAP children to attend Rutgers after completing high school.

Center for the Arts

The Rutgers-Camden Center for the Arts offers a year-round schedule of exhibitions, performances, films, and events in the Stedman Gallery and the Walter K. Gordon Theater. Many of these programs bring to area children the joy of the arts and an understanding of the connection of art to almost all facets of life.

Through the Center for the Arts, we are ensuring valuable formal and informal learning opportunities for all ages on campus and throughout the region. With support, we can renovate and expand our facilities, build an endowment, and endow specific outreach programs.

Athletics

An NCAA Division III school, Rutgers-Camden fields a total of 13 men’s and women’s intercollegiate teams. The program is dedicated to the principle that student-athletes are students first, but that athletic competition is a vital part of the college experience.

Students participate in a variety of intercollegiate and intramural athletic programs. Support will allow naming opportunities for our state-of-the-art soccer and softball fields, the renovation and expansion of our existing gymnasium, and the creation of new programs, such as crew.
