In this new page you can start constructing your Website.

Composer gives you the format of WYSIWYG. Pronounced wizzy-wig, stands for What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get. A WYSIWYG application is one that enables you to see on the display screen exactly what will appear when the document is on the net.

Start entering the text you want to put on your webpage. I inserted the name of my company and the text for the links down. The links are inactive.

Let's make the link active

Highlight the text of the link you want to make active. Text can be highlighted by pressing and holding the left mouse button at one end of the text and dragging to the other end.

Choose either Insert from the top menu and then Link option under it or click on the button on the top toolbar.

New Window will pop up. In this window put in the information to which your active link will refer to.

  • Click on the button Choose File..., browse for file the link should refer to. This File is the existing HTML document you have already saved on your hard drive. It is preferrable to have all HTML file names without any space. For example, RutgersCamden.html file is preferrable than Rutgers Camden.html
  • Now path of the file has to be inserted where the link will look for this file.

    Example could be: http://crab.rutgers.edu/~username/RutgersCamden.html

Here crab is server name, rutgers.edu is domain name, ~username is the username and RutgersCamden.html is the filename that link is referring to.

  • Click on button Apply and then Close.

Have a look at the link text. Its color has changed and text is underlined.

like...Link 1
