Health Center’s Pediatric HOP Clinic holds End of the year Festival

(5/21/09)

The Rutgers/LEAP Health Center’s Pediatric HOP Clinic held its annual health and wellness Festival on May 21st for children and families at LEAP Academy.  Several families participated in games and activities like basketball, Frisbee, and hula hoops with the overall goal of encouraging physical fitness.  Eight third-year medical students at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School organized the event, led by Pediatric HOP Clinic student coordinator Abha Gupta.

The Pediatric HOP (Health-Opportunity-Program) Clinic is one of three unique healthcare service programs at the Health Center designed to make proper healthcare available to adults, children, and families in Camden City who lack health insurance.  The Clinics are a partnership between Rutgers–Camden, LEAP Academy, Cooper Hospital, and RWJMS.

The Pediatric HOP Clinic has hours on Thursday (twice a month) from 5:30-8:30pm, while the Adult Clinic operates each Wednesday from 5:50-8:30pm and the Women’s Clinic has hours on Thursday (once a month), also 5:30-8:30pm.
