The Teacher Development and Performance Institute (TDPI) focuses
on improving the performance of schools and the achievement of
students by addressing the following critical areas with teachers
and school management teams:
Creating a
culture of learning
Transforming
the school climate and community
Educating teachers,
principals, and administrators
Encouraging
a philosophy of lifelong learning
Link professional
development to teacher's needs and objectives
Model best
practices learned from the LEAP Academy and other
successful
models
Practice effective
communication and leadership;
Adopt strategies
to help economically disadvantaged students
become high
achievers
Effect systematic
change
In Camden, TDPI has served 27 schools, and 178 teachers and administrators
since 2000.
