Through the Alfredo Santiago Endowed Scholarship Fund, his family, friends and colleagues are keeping Alfredo’s legacy and deep commitment to students’ development alive for many generations to come.

The scholarship, named for this well-respected advocate devoted to promoting educational opportunities for minority youth, is helping academically talented graduates from Camden’s LEAP Academy Charter High School to pursue degrees in mathematics and the sciences at Rutgers University.

The school has achieved a remarkable record of 100 percent college placements for graduates for three consecutive years. The scholarship is based on academic merit and financial need, and may be renewed for up to three years (or four years if the student is enrolled in a five-year program), if recipients remain in good academic standing.
