Continuing students from Rutgers-Camden should use the Webreg system http://webreg.rutgers.edu beginning on February 20, 2012 for Summer Session registration. Instructions for Webreg may be found on that page. Rutgers students who are not eligible for Webreg (first semester students, or students attempting to register for an overload) may use the Summer Session Registration Form or may register in person at the Summer Session Office at 311 North Fifth St, First Floor.
CURRENT RUTGERS UNIVERSITY STUDENTS FORMER RUTGERS STUDENTS NON-RUTGERS STUDENTS The student should confirm with his or her college that the selected courses/credits are transferable to his/her home institution. Rutgers cannot be responsible for the amount or kind of credit granted by other institutions for courses taken at Rutgers. Rutgers courses are acredited and generally are accepted by other institutions, but individual courses may or may not meet the specific requirements of the student's program in their home institution. Complete the Registration Form from hardcopy catalog or the Summer Session website, answering all questions. If the student is applying for 300-400 level Business courses or graduate courses, enclose a copy of the most recent transcript. If using the application on the website, the student may separately mail, email or fax (856-225-6453) the transcripts. Transcripts do not have to be "official" sealed transcripts - they are merely to determine eligibility for a course, not acceptance to the university. Incomplete applications will be disgarded. Send the application (and transcript, if required) to be received in the Summer Session Office by the appropriate deadline (see Calendar for deadline dates).
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
WORKFORCE/UNEMPLOYMENT STUDENTS
Students may add a course to their schedule by using the Webreg system http://webreg.rutgers.edu. Instructions for the Webreg system may be found on that site. Please note that students are normally only permitted to take a single course (and its associated lab if it has one) in each of the three summer session terms. Taking more than one course each session is considered an overload, and requires special permission (such as it would in the regular academic term). See Course Load below for more information, or contact the Summer Session Office. Please note that the bill for all courses the student is currently registered for is due at the earliest due date. For example, if a student is registered for a three credit first session course and a three credit second session course, the bill for six credits is due at the due date for the first session. To stagger your payments, you will need to stagger your registrations, making sure to pay for one course before attempting to register for the next. Courses added during the Late Add period are assessed a $50 late change fee.
Students may drop a course from their schedule using the Webreg system http://webreg.rutgers.edu. Instructions for the Webreg system may be found on that site. Please pay careful attention to the deadlines regarding refunds and academic penalty on the Summer Session Calendar. Any refund due for a dropped course will be processed by the Bursar's Office in seven to ten business days in the form of a check, which will be held at the Bursar's Office until the student contacts them with instructions. The Bursar's Office may be contacted at 856-225-6021 for more information regarding refunds. Courses dropped by the "Last Day to Drop with 100% Refund" deadline will not appear on the student's transcript and will receive a full refund of tuition. Courses dropped after the "Last Day to Drop with 100% Refund" deadline will appear as a "W" on the student's transcript, and will be refunded according to the Summer Session Calendar.
Students may change their Summer Session registration from one course to another (or one section of a course to another) using the Webreg system http://webreg.rutgers.edu. Instructions for the Webreg system may be found on that site. Student should, in general, DROP first and then ADD, to avoid problems with reaching Course Load maximums. The normal rules for Dropping and Adding detailed above apply. Please note - if you drop a section of a course and receive a "W" for that section, you will not be able to use Webreg to add another section of the same course in the summer. Contact the Summer Session Office for assistance in resolving that situation.
Because of the intense nature of Summer Session courses, students may carry no more than 4 credits in a 4-week session without special permission of the Camden Summer Director. Requirements for taking an overload:
AUDITING A COURSE
PASS/NO CREDIT OPTION
SATISFACTORY/UNSATISFACTORY
REPEAT OPTION
Please note that as of February 2006 the Registrar's Office moved away from using SS Numbers as the Student ID, and will be assigning all existing students a new Rutgers University ID number which will be used for all student transactions from that point onward. To find out what your RUID number is, and for more information about the new ID numbers, see https://identityservices.rutgers.edu/ruidquery/query.html. Non-Rutgers students are required to provide the Social Security number during the initial registration process for tracking purposes, but will use the assigned RU ID number for all transactions thereafter.
